Tennessee State University guard Tatyana Davis was named the Ohio Valley Conference’s Newcomer of the week.
Davis put up a career-high 25 points against Tennessee Tech and followed that up with 17 versus Morehead StateIn helping the Lady Tigers go 2-0 in the past week. Davis also shot a very efficient 64% from the floor, including knocking down 50% of her three-point attempts.
On the season, Davis is averaging a team-high 14.1 points per game, while shooting 45% from the floor, even while recently shifting from starter to sixth-man over the course of the past four games.
Davis and the Lady Tigers get back to action this Thursday when they take on the Skyhawks of UT Martin at the Gentry Center. Tip-off time is scheduled for 1 p.m. CST.
